In the past few years, Augmented Reality (AR) has received ever increasing attention, as indicated by a series of events devoted to it, including the well-attended International Workshops on Augmented Reality (IWAR '98 and '99) and last year's International Symposium on Augmented Reality (ISAR '00). ISAR ’01 continues the IWAR and ISAR series of annual meetings, providing an opportunity for AR researchers from academia and industry to meet in an informal atmosphere to exchange ideas, concepts, and research results.
